I have expertise in helping adults who have a personality trait called sensory processing sensitivity, otherwise known as the Highlly Sensitive Person (HSP) trait. I have found that these people describe 2 main problems in their lives:

feeling overwhelmed by an overstimulating environment and
being misunderstood by others.

Taking an educational and supportive approach, I use my personal experience of the HSP trait & years of counselling others with it to tailor the work specifically to each person. Typical goals I have helped HSP's with include recovery from trauma/abuse, dating & relationship skills, reducing anxiety, perfectionism, procrastination, fear of conflict, interpersonal sensitivity, career/work satisfaction, being understood by non-HSP's, balancing self-protection vs exploration, using your strengths of deep thinking, compassion, intuition, creativity, and leadership skills.

I use my HSP strength of attunement to notice what you need/prefer and I don't pathologize or judge people. I also use my health knowledge from my nursing degree & my research background to choose best practices.

You may be interested in my seminars on topics relating to the HSP trait (dates are on my website), as most HSP's are cautious, and find it more comfortable to experience my teaching style before booking a counselling session. Watching my video on this site can also give you a sense of me & make it easier to make that first contact. I can also speak with you on the phone for 10-20 minutes to see if we would be a good fit.
