Additional Information about this counsellor or psychologist:

Marcia offers couples counselling for clients struggling with issues such as, trust after infidelity, emotional or sexual distancing, arguments that seem to escalate and never seem to be resolved, or the challenges of separation/divorce and co-parenting.

She assists couples to use practical strategies and tools that work for them, to communicate in ways that are respectful to create understanding, to work together to resolve issues, and to create healthier, more positive patterns of communication.

Teenagers are often affected by transitions in couples’ relationships, or they may be in conflict with parents or step-parents. Marcia provides therapy to assist teens, parents or step-parents to work together to create more harmonious family environments.

She also provides individual counselling to clients who are thinking about quitting the use of alcohol or drugs, or who want to quit and want to maintain clean and sober living. She offers counselling for internet addiction, and counselling to family members who are affected by someone who may have addictions.

Depression, anxiety, anger, and stress are frequently reported by individuals, couples and teens in her practice. She coaches clients to develop new perspectives, to find solutions to reduce these or similar issues, and to discover and use practical tools within brief solution-focused therapy.

Marcia has a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology and is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors. She has completed additional training in Emotional Regulation in Couples Therapy & Rebuilding Intimacy After an Affair, Addictions, Trauma, Critical Incident Debriefing, Crime Victim Assistance, Resolving Depression and Anxiety, and Brief Solution-focused Therapy.

Experience is essential to successful outcomes. Marcia has 17 years of experience counselling youth and adult clients with career, employment and personal issues. She provides private counselling, and is a provider for several Employee Assistance Program agencies, Victim Services, and some insurance and benefits companies. Please check with your benefits provider that they will reimburse for Registered Clinical Counsellors.
